GLENDALE VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE CORPS.
SERVING THE GLENDALE COMMUNITY SINCE 1973

GVAC History
The Glendale Volunteer Ambulance Corps was incorporated over 39 years ago by
members that felt a need for medical assistance to fellow community members in Glendale,
NY.
Our Unit Number is 94-E (9-4-Eddie)

Currently we have over 30 members who volunteer their time for the better health of the
community.

GVAC is currently a NYC Office of Emergency
management, Community Emergency Response
Team for Queens; Community Board 5.

The GVAC applied for training with OEM and invited members of the Glendale Civilian
Observation Patrol and the Ridgewood VAC to participate in the course.  The Course was
held at the GVAC Headquarters and the former location of the GRYC.

GVAC Also participates in the Western Queens Mutual Backup System.  Within this system
it allows neighboring Volunteer Ambulance Corps to help out in a time of need.  Through
this system we assist these volunteer ambulances and their respective communities:
